Why does this jewel belong to the collection "Abanilla, paraje lunar" ?
Abanilla in Arabic al-Bayada which means white city, hence the diamonds. The ochre is for the tonality of its soil as well as the fire sapphires refer to the tones of its coat of arms. The ruby is included for the colours of the region and the green olivine is a nod to the Chícamo river.

A town of contrasts, the river is responsible for this. Chícamo. barren lands, next to others teeming with life. Abanilla is "the murcian palestine".
