CAN I TRAIN IN MURCIA TO BECOME A GOOD JEWELLER? YES

Hello,

Many of my friends, clients and students ask me where they can train to become a jeweller in the futureand they ask me if there are jewellery teaching in Murcia to do so. They always start with a great deal of confusion, and do not have enough information to be able to find their way, and most importantly, to be able to assess what is most appropriate for each personal circumstance. But for all this, the best thing to do is to know the training offers that exist.

The answer is "yes", and there are two options to choose from. We are always talking about training regulated by Royal Decree of the Ministry of Education, and therefore the Regional Ministry of Education of the R. of Murcia.

We have two Jewellery Training Cyclesone is called the Cycle of Jewellery Medium LevelThe other one is the "Metal Businessmen Regional Federation of Murcia" (FREMM) and the other one is the "Metal Businessmen Regional Federation of Murcia" (FREMM) and the other one is the "Metal Businessmen Regional Federation of Murcia". Higher Level Vocational Training Cycle in Artistic Jewellery taught at the Murcia School of Art and Design.

Both Cycles are interesting and both consist of two years of training with theoretical and practical parts in companies to form the Cycle.  There are several important differences between the two degrees.  In the intermediate level, the number of practical hours is much higher than in the higher level, and as it is an intermediate level, it is necessary to have completed ESO studies, or to pass an annual entrance exam organised by the Autonomous Community. For this test, Fremm offers specific support courses to help you pass it.

With regard to the Higher Cycle, it is a requirement to have passed the Baccalaureate, or failing that, to also take an entrance exam, in addition to a specific test concerning the Cycle you are applying for, in this case Jewellery, to ratify that there is a minimum level of knowledge.

Both Cycles complement each other, that is to say, first you can do the Intermediate and then the Higher Cycle, or independently of each other.  I must stress that the big difference that we observe is that the Superior degree focuses on training aimed at the art, creativity and imagination of the student, from a more artistic perspective as a whole, while the Intermediate degree focuses more on a more technical training in the use of the tool and more mechanical in its processes..

The ideal, from my point of view, is to carry out both cycles, as one complements the other, and both stand out in their objective. As in all training and concern for learning, the most important thing in the end is the learner's skills, concerns, vision, imagination, etc.... embodied in their learning tomorrow.

The area of influence of jewellery and its possibilities in today's world are immense, adding to its classical values the character of refinement, research and the search for new possibilities that our society requires. In the field of labour activity, the studies are focused on its application to both large and small companies and artisan workshops, and the professional in this speciality can work both as an employee and as a self-employed person.

I hope that this article has helped to clarify many doubts about these aspects of jewellery, and I think that I have explained quite clearly the current training available in Murcia in order to become a jeweller. If this article has been able to guide someone with desire and enthusiasm in this direction, I am very happy.
