The year 2022 is about to end... how quickly time flies!

As is often the case at this time of year, we tend to take stock of everything that has happened to us over the last 365 days. The truth is that we've been on a bit of a strange streak, so let's try to enter 2023 in the best possible way, don't you think? And may all the good times, experiences and people that have sweetened 2022 for us continue and be maintained. accompany us in the following.

We already know some of the most popular traditions to attract good luck on the last night of the year. One of them is to wear or carry some red complement. So why not a jewel?

18K white gold, diamond and ruby ring by Blasco Joyero

At Blasco Joyero we have thought of an assortment of pieces in reddish tones, such as the rubyas the perfect good fortune charm for 2023.

The Ruby (from lat. rubens) was not recognised in the corundum group - along with sapphire - until the 1800s. Previously, it was known by the same nomenclature as red spinel and garnet. In addition, in ancient times it was used as a protective amulet, so it was often seen in the jewellery of royalty. Rubies are precious gems of a distinctive red colour - the most coveted shade is known as 'pigeon's blood' -, durable and the most resistant (next to sapphire) after the King of all precious stones, the diamond.

So a piece made with diamonds and rubies make and represent a strong and powerful combo in every way. Isn't that a good metaphor to start the year with? We don't need any more reasons to wear a beautiful jewel made with rubies to put the first foot in 2023, what do you say?

From Blasco Joyero we hope you end 2022 in the best possible way surrounded by all your loved ones and friends. Here's to another year full of good times and happiness!

Happy New Year!
